What is oral health?
Oral health refers to the well-being of your entire mouth, including your teeth, gums, tongue, and other components of the oral cavity such as your oral microbiota.
Maintaining a healthy oral microbiota involves regular dental checkups, proper hygiene, and a healthy diet.
Brushing twice daily, flossing, and dental visits prevent issues like cavities, gingivitis (bleeding gums), and periodontitis (gum infection).
Oral probiotics are an easy way to complement your daily oral care routine.
How do oral probiotics work?
Your mouth hosts millions of bacteria, both good and bad. When there's an imbalance—too many bad guys and not enough good ones—issues may arise.
Oral probiotics work by introducing good bacteria into the mouth to help create a balanced microbiota—just like how gut probiotics support digestive health.
Activated by your saliva, the oral probiotic bacteria ‘wake up’ and multiply, forming a team of millions of tiny invisible helpers that crowd out the bad bacteria.
Taking oral probiotics daily is recommended, as these good bacteria are naturally expelled after a week or two.
